Time is close

Hi all

Time is near, my mother goes into hospital on the 3rd May. She is having a kidney removed, it has a tumour.

I have made her a Get Well card ahead of time.

I'll be entering it in the following challenges:

Just Magnolia - Week 103 (A Sketch - below)

This is Tilda with flowers and a banner entailing "Get Well Soon". She's coloured with copics and Glitz on her wing and on the banner and her shoes and flowers.

Not a Card ... Just a release ..

Well this week was really a mixed bag of treats!!!

Skeletons fell out of my closet on National TV :)

My son's biological father was on Missing Pieces. His half brother (who is 2 years older than him) was looking for his father. The show helped them reunite. We weren't notified, so it was a big shock to see him after 20 years !!!

Here's the link .... What was I thinking!! He's so old and haggardy... but that's what you get from a hard life womanising.... drugs.... night life ....

Here's a few pics of them all.

Similarities between the boys for sure :)

Damon - My son:

Reagan - his half brother who went in search for Grant (the sperm donor)

Shannon, Sarah, & Lucas - The eldest 3 of Grants (all with Julie aka Karen) .... Then there's Kim and Connor, they come after Damon, to two other woman.... He was a very busy man.. EEEEEKKKKKKKK!!

Well who thought after 20 years this would happen, but I guess what do you expect if you have a child so young with someone who is so footloose and fancy free. Da la ....

Anyway got that all of my chest... Time to move on and concentrate on my sick mother.

Just a quick post

Hi there

Well this is just a quick one from me tonight, have been hit with some rather big news so am not feeling all that great.

My mother has to have one of her kidneys removed, she has a tumour on it. As she smokes 1.5 packs a day and is a good 8kg underweight I'm rather concerned for her. After the operation they will do a chest x-ray to see it hasn't spread else where. Need alot of prayers to go her way. Thinking of you always mumsy .. ..

Anyway I'm entering my second entry in The Totally Tilda Challenge of "Chipboard" , I spent many hours on Saturday making my second door hanger for my girls room. They love it dearly, so that makes me feel rather special that they like something I've made for them.

Here she is:

Door Hanger

Evening all

I've tried something new!!

I just missed out on entering the C.R.A.F.T door hanger challenge, but alas that's not the only reason we create.. ..

I've made the below door hanger for my friend Cat over at Catalina's Cottage, why don't you pop over to her blog and see what wonderful things she's been up to.

We've recently had earthquakes down in Christchurch, the South Island of New Zealand. Been a rather devastating time for our fellow Cantabrians, so Cat has rallied around and organised many good things for them.

Here's just something little for her, to show how much I appreciate all her good work.

But alls not lost, I have found a challenge I can enter her into ... The Totally Tilda Challenge (with chipboard) ... My door hanger is made of chipboard, also the tag Tilda is sitting on is chipboard...

In the heart it says "Genius at Work" .. :)

Also I will enter her in Delightful Challenges - Green this week (top of the morning to ya.. Yep St Patty's day) ...

I'm very pleased with the outcome of this "guinea pig", I have a queue wanting me to make more. So I guess I'm going to be busy for the next wee while.. haha.

DEE

Now don't fall over in shock!!

Hi ladies

Yes, this is two blog entries in one day, now I just couldn't help myself. Now don't think I'm addicted, I've just found another challenge that I can possibly enter.

My daughter Jess had two birthdays this weekend - Friday and Saturday sleepovers.
I made both cards for her, but unfortunately I forgot to photograph one of the cards.

I found two Kenny K images that suited her friends down to a T. The card I forgot to photograph was of the Kenny K image with the "beanie" - Jess's friend Sanaya lives in a beanie, so this was Sooo her. And the below card is of her other friend Esma - very much like her also. Was quite wrapped with the outcome...

This week's Kenny K challenge is of Lace, Ribbons and Bows. My card has a couple of "wee" bows ... not quite lace or ribbon .... stitching and embroidery cotton (close...). I do hope it's accepted, with my "wee" bows ... :)

I used my copics, sewing machine, Wild orchid flowers etc.

And a little closer ...

Anyway i should hit the sack, it's Sunday night, and I have a full on week ahead of me.

Been awile ... again ... JUST MAGNOLIA & MAGNOLIA DOWN UNDER

Hi there

Well what sparked my interest in blogging today is the JUST MAGNOLIA blog, I love anything Magnolia, and who doesn't really :)

I'm entering this week's challenge at JUST MAGNOLIA - Bev's Sketch .. .. ..
and MAGNOLIA DOWN UNDER - Magnolia Down Under Challenge #87

I've made the below card for a friend of my husband's whose just had to make the very hard decision of having her beloved cat put to sleep. She had the vet come to her home and put him down so he could go peacefully and in his own surroundings, what a lovely thing to do.

Anyway this is a "Sorry" card - sorry for your loss.

I coloured in Magnolia with copics - oranges and purples, one of my fave combos.

After spending alot of time colouring her in I then put her through my cuttlebug using my circle spellbinder (trying to remember off the top of my head some instructions Debbie had sent me), I did something around the wrong way and cut off the top and bottom of her, so pieced back together. (I can see clearly, only because I know it's there!!!) Hopefully it's not TOOOO noticeable :( .. .. I just didn't want to see it go to waste....

Here she is ...

That's all for now :)

Latest creations

Hello

This weekend is Auckland Anniversary and it's been a weekend of sorts.

Saturday brought us into Parnell to purchase a few new things for the kitchen, was rather exciting. Got a couple of new knives, (hopefully this time Jess won't drop one on her foot!!). Also got a new food processor and a Le Creuset Grill Plate, great for chops and veges... mmmm.

Today was a lazy day for me, haven't even managed to get out of my PJ's :)

Here's a couple of LO's I've managed to do to go into my baby's album...

The above one is of my son Damon, who actually turns 20!! this Sunday. It was him on his 1st Birthday, thinking he could try a sip of beer ~ wishful thinking little fella :)

These are of Damon in the car, on his way to his nanas for babysitting while I went to work at McDonald's.

Anyway dinner calls, hubby's made potatos in their jackets with bacon, chives, cheese and sour cream..... yummmy

A rather long Absence!!

Well hello again fellow bloggers,

It has been brought to my attention "thanks my dear friend" that I haven't been on here for some time. Have been rather busy just caught up in life...

I'd like to briefly share with you what I have been up to recently.

Below is a couple of things from our garden ...

I made quite a few Christmas cards but unfortunately didn't get any photos of them, was such a rush before Xmas, made some with die cuts and others using Mo's Digi Images.

I've also started my Baby Album of my three kidlets,

Here's a couple of pages from that ...

It's been a busy start to the year. I've already been back to work a week, and we've just been down to Taupo catching up with family. Made it back in time not to get flooded in the Waikato region, phew!!

Of the Christmas period while off work we went to Taupo for 5 days, went for a couple of picnics and I took the girls to the Hamilton Zoo on a day trip. Apart from that I just relaxed at home, I so needed the R&R!!

Below are a couple of pics of an evening we had at the Auckland Domain and a couple from the Hamilton Zoo. It is such a quaint intimate zoo, we SO, SO, must go back!!

Hamilton Zooooo below :

And finally a few cards I've made this year.

First is a card I made for my sister-in-law's birthday (a Magnolia Tilda Card) - Tilda baking as my sister-in-law is a bit of a baker.

And the inside ...

My son is turning 20!!! I know I can't believe it myself .... and I was being rather tongue in cheek when I made this card for him. I got this image from Mo's Digi Images - Jack and the Beanstalk (Grow)!!! He's only about 6"4 .... (hopefully he's stopped now) ... hehheee

And as another year rolls around ... my and hubby will be married 3yrs on 15th Feb.... we're celebrating with 2 nights in a hotel in the heart of Auckland City this year. Very much looking forward to that...

And here's the card I made him ... Magnolia Tilda Cupid card ....

And that's all for now.

Hopefully it won't be so long until the next time I blog.
